Why hire a wedding planner?
There are many reasons why couples want to hire a wedding planner.
A professional Wedding Planner can provide a variety of services including:
• Complete planning and co-ordination of the wedding
• Partial planning of the wedding
• On the day co-ordination
• Supplier portfolio
• Venue consultancy
• Management services
Some couple want a professional Wedding Planner to co-ordinate the entire wedding, whilst others want to enjoy planning part of the wedding themselves, and hire a
Wedding Planner for specific solutions, for e.g. to find suitable musicians or the ideal wedding stationery etc.
Planning and co-ordinating an entire wedding can be stressful for the couple. A Wedding Planner can ensure that the experience is as stress free as possible by doing all the work for them.
Up to 250 hours can be spent planning a wedding, which is equivalent to 6 weeks full-time work. Whilst most couples are working 24/7 this adds to the stress of their lives at this very important moment in time.
A Wedding Planner can make the planning of the very special day as stress free as possible.
For one bride and groom all they wanted was the room and tables to be dressed and the day managed to make sure everything ran smoothly. We had liased with the bride to find out exactly what her requirements were for the layout of the room and tables. We discussed the timing of the day so that we could be sure of having plenty of time to oversee the setting of the room.
Happily everything went smoothly after a rather uncertain early morning start at the chosen venue. We arrived at 8 am to find the venue was still locked up. Eventually we were able to gain entry only to find that the banqueting room had been used the previous evening and had not been cleared or cleaned. The cleaners did not start until 10 am and the wedding ceremony was to take place at 12.15 pm! We decided the only thing to do was to start clearing away the debris of the previous evening ourselves! This we started to do and eventually help arrived in the form of a terrific group of cleaners.
The room was ready just as the guests started to arrive – tables dressed with fresh flowers and candles. Sweets in tiny heart boxes and confetti sprinkled over the white linen cloths. Stunning displays of flowers marked out the centre of the room where the bride and groom would walk along the red carpet to be seated at the top table.
The remainder of the day ran smoothly. The food was as it should have been, hot and served on time. The D J played appropriate music throughout the day. The photographer was kept busy making sure everyone was included in at least one photograph. The bride and groom looked relaxed and were happy with the management of the day as they’d had nothing to worry about, except enjoying the day, and being with each other, family and friends whilst everything else was taken care of by us – the wedding co-ordinators.
Another bride and groom wanted the entire wedding planned, co-ordinated and managed by us.
Firstly we held a briefing with the bride and groom to discuss the type of wedding they had in mind, and where and what type of venue they would prefer. Once this had taken place we viewed a number of venues to find the ideal situation for this particular couple.
There were to be about 80 guests during the day and 120 in total in the evening, so obviously this was one of the prime considerations for the choice of venue.
Eventually a suitable venue was found. Then every other aspect of the wedding had to be worked through meticulously. The things that had to be taken care of ranged from the choice of stationery, to the design and making of the wedding dress and bridesmaids outfits. The menu and wine for the reception and the evening buffet. Musicians and a DJ had to be booked along with accommodation for the bridal party and the guests. These were just some of the aspects that were taken care of by us in conjunction with the bride and groom.
On the day we were there to ensure that everything ran smoothly from the arranging of the flowers to the serving of the food and everything else in between, including making sure that the bridal clothes and wedding presents arrived safely at their destination the following day after the wedding.
We dealt with every aspect of the wedding, obviously after discussion with the bride and groom. We ensured that the whole event was organised to the last detail, and that the bride and groom had no stress in the run-up to their big day and during and after the happy event.
So as you can see a wedding planner can just do one small part of the process, or organise and co-ordinate the entire event. It can be whatever the bride and groom want it to be. If they want us simply to find a DJ then that is all we will do!
