Wedding Poems

 

Some couples choose to have a poem read out at their wedding ceremony or perhaps at the wedding reception. If you are having a traditional Church Wedding, you may be able to read out a poem as part of the service, and if it is a Civil Ceremony then you may be able to include on as well though you will need to check with your Registrar or your Minister.

 

There can be some issues regarding copyright and therefore you may want to check with your minister as to their position on re-printing poems within the wedding service. The copyright law in the UK states that a piece of work is said to be in the public domain 70+the live of the author has passed. Otherwise you may need to get permission from whoever owns the copyright.
