A wedding program is both practical and also a nice keepsake for yourself and your family and friends of your special day.
A wedding program should contain information on:
The date of the ceremony
The location of your ceremony
The members of the bridal party
The order of service
The music
Any readings or poems recited
It is a nice idea to personalise your wedding program and you can do this in a number of ways. You may like to add photographs of yourself and your groom and even other key members of the bridal party. You can even add a little bit of information about each of them! Though remember nothing to racy - granny may read it!
Perhaps you would like to thank a couple of people who have been instrumental in making your day go smoothly, such as your flower arranger, or someone else instrumental in the smooth running of the ceremony that perhaps is not a guest. Someone that you would not normally thank within the normal running of the wedding reception perhaps.
It would also be useful to have a small map and the address of your reception if your service is being held somewhere else.
Whatever you put into your wedding program it is a reflection of you two as a couple and your day but it can be just a sheet of A4 or a small booklet. As long as it is easy for people to read and well laid out. You may like to co-ordinate it with the rest of your stationery too!
